The Department for Education has confirmed the Adoption Support Fund (ASF) will continue until March 2025.
The ASF helps adoptive families receive a range of different therapies to ensure children are able to regulate their emotions and help them flourish. Adopted children have experienced trauma and loss prior to coming into care and this funding will help some of the most vulnerable children in our society.
Since we merged in 2018, over 550 families in Merseyside have received support through the ASF.
Wandzia Cody, Adoption Support Team Manager for AiM states, ‘We are extremely happy to hear that the funding will continue, we work with adopted families everyday and recognise the impact that different therapies have on our children. This funding can be a lifeline to our families and it’s great news that its continuing.’
