April 2nd marks the five year anniversary since the four local authorities, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral councils came together to bring adoption knowledge and experience under one roof.

As a Regional Adoption Agency, the service finds families for children in care and provides professional support throughout and after the adoption process.

Since merging, there have been 380+ children adopted by loving families, however, there are still lots of children that need loving homes.

There are currently over 2,000 children looking for loving homes across the UK. Most of them are part of a sibling group and therefore can wait longer to be adopted.

The adoption team has supported 800+ adoptive families across Merseyside since merging 5 years ago. The support team specialises in supporting families up until the young person turns 21.

Wandzia Cody, Manager at AiM stated “As a service, we are extremely proud of the work that we do. The team work together to ensure a professional service for prospective adopters, adoptive families, and children across Merseyside. We know things are extra tough for families at the moment and our support team continues to work with adoptive families up until the young person is 21”.
